A pair of University of Akron track and field standouts will hit the international stage this week as junior Shawn Barber (Kingwood, Texas) and sophomore Clayton Murphy (New Paris, Ohio) will compete at the Pan American Games in Toronto, Ontario.

University of Akron sophomore Clayton Murphy (New Paris, Ohio) qualified for the finals in the 800 meters at the Pan American Games after running the fastest-preliminary time in the race on Wednesday, July 22, crossing the line in 1:48.88.
