University of Akron junior pole vaulter Shawn Barber (Kingwood, Texas) chased the dream of capturing his first-ever NCAA Outdoor title all season and on Wednesday, June 10, at the NCAA Track and Field Championship in Eugene, Ore., the dream became a reality as he surpassed 18-4.50 (5.50m) win his school-record third overall NCAA championship and in the process become a six-time All-American.
